Are you that bride who never really fantasized about your dream wedding as a little girl? And who absolutely hates to plan (like anything at all) but really, really likes a good deal, especially when it involves a vacation (duh!) on a tropical island? Well then, we've got a few words for you, girlfriend: all-inclusive wedding! Here are five reasons you may want to reconsider building your big day from scratch.
1. You're so NOT a DIY bride
Not exactly excited about the creative aspect of event design or simply don't have any free time to dedicate toward planning? Then take the advice of Debbie Ley, owner of The Corner District, advice and book an all-inclusive wedding package, which will take care of all those nitty-gritty details for you.
2. You like a good deal
Packages will often bundle together details that a bride would want — everything from tables and chairs to linens and tabletop settings — at a discounted price, notes Ley. "For example, if you choose an all-inclusive package, your venue might provide the use of décor, tables, chairs, linens, china, flatware and glassware in your site fee. If you were to rent those items from your caterer (or individually), you'd be charged quite a bit in addition."
3. You hate making decisions (and aren't super picky either)
If you want to feel at ease in the planning process by having most of the decisions made all at once and in one place, an all-inclusive wedding is the perfect fit for you, says Samantha Gieseke, owner of Plan Our Day Houston. "Food and beverage selections, table layout, cake design and venue logistics…done! Working with their preferred vendor list for DJ's, bands and florists also ensures your vendors know the venue well. Plus, you can ask your planner for some new ideas that they've never seen done at the venue so your wedding is sure to be memorable!"
4. You really want a destination wedding but you don't have a big budget
According to wedding planner Sandy Malone, owner of Weddings in Vieques, an all-inclusive resort may just make your dream a reality. "Here's the deal, when your guests pay for their all-inclusive packages, they're already paying for all of their food and drinks throughout their stay. That makes it possible for the resort to offer more discounted wedding packages to brides and grooms because you're really not paying for reception catering."
5. You want to get hitched quickly
Only have four months or less to plan? Then all-inclusive is totes your new BFF! Sourcing all of your vendors within a tight timeframe will feel daunting and may be close to impossible if you plan to get married during peak season in your area, points out wedding planner Marilisa Schachinger of Martel Event. "Booking an all-inclusive package through a venue may not save as much money as sourcing each individual vendor, but it will save an incredible amount of time and potential headaches with one main contact overseeing the entire process." True that!
