Suzanne and Jon met in college but didn't start dating until after graduation, when both were living in New York City. The bride wore a Suzanne Ermann gown purchased at Hitched. The couple decided to host their wedding at the home of Suzanne's parents. The ceremony, officiated by the minister of the Unitarian Universalist church the family attends, was held in the backyard under a clear-top tent. Anna Kate, five, the daughter of the bride's cousin, served as flower girl wearing a coral sash to match the bridesmaids' dresses. Post-ceremony, the couple's 150 guests enjoyed lemonade spiked with Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka during cocktail hour by the pool. "We floated pink, orange, and yellow gerbera daises in the water," says Suzanne. The escort cards were hand-lettered by Jon's mother, and arranged in a bed of carnations. The reception was held under a white tent rented from Loane Bros. Dinner included a choice of roasted filet of Chesapeake Bay rockfish topped with Maryland crab or roasted chicken stuffed with prosciutto, mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes, and fresh basil.
