Wedding party processional: A classical recording of "Junk," by Paul McCartney.
Cocktails: For the December event, an a capella ensemble sang holiday songs like "Winter Wonderland," plus contemporary tunes such as "A Lack of Color," by Death Cab for Cutie. "The a capella group was from our alma mater, and so were many guests, so they loved it," says Heather. "The performance created more energy than classical musicians, and it felt more formal than a DJ."
Couple's reception entrance: "I Believe in a Thing Called Love," by The Darkness, played by a DJ who was also in charge of music cues for the ceremony.
First dance: "Calico Skies," by Paul McCartney.
Cake cutting: "Love You Madly," by Cake.
Extra touch: A Beatles tribute band kicked off dancing with an hour-long set including "Twist and Shout" and "Please Please Me." Later, a DJ took over for the rest of the evening.
