Season 13 of The Bachelorette began airing just last night, but fans of the franchise are already placing their bets on who wins star Rachel Lindsay's heart—and gifts her an engagement ring in return. Last week, the newest Bachelorette revealed that she is in fact engaged after filming the show and has gone from a bachelorette to a bride-to-be. Now, this proud owner of a sparkly Neil Lane ring is spilling even more deets on her engagement.
Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night, Lindsay spoiled this season's happy ending but kept mum on the identity of her new fiancé. "I don't plan on a breakup," Lindsay told Kimmel of her reality-TV happily-ever-after.
Ever the Bachelor Nation aficionado, Kimmel was quick to note that this is the first time a Bachelorette or Bachelor revealed a post-show relationship status so soon, with Lindsay dropping the news of her engagement last week, before the first episode even aired. "We joke and say this is a season of firsts," the civil-defense attorney said in response. "I think they were like, 'You know what? You're so excited, you're glowing, just do it!'" It is certainly hard to hide that engagement glow, after all.
As has become standard with Bachelor Nation couples, Lindsay hasn't seen her beau since he popped the question. (Can't let those spoilers sneak out…) "We had a couple of days together, and then we went our separate ways" she explained. "We just finished filming like 10 days ago." Yikes—they've got a ways to go until the season finale airs and they can officially go public with their relationship. Although some Bachelor and Bachelorette couples have found ways around their no-in-person-contact producer orders. Remember how former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe and her fiancé, Shawn Booth, donned disguises so they could secretly meet up ahead of their finale airing?
"I hope it works out," Kimmel told Lindsay, but he was quick to quip, "They never work out. You know that, right?"
"Well, I would love to be the first," said Lindsay. "I would love to prove you wrong."
We're rooting for you, Rachel!
