Touchdown for Troy Aikman! It's out of the end zone and into married life for the retired football star.
The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and NFL Hall of Famer tied the knot with long-time girlfriend Catherine "Capa" Mooty this holiday weekend in Santa Barbara, California.
The 50-year-old football legend shared a beautiful photo of the newlyweds walking down the aisle together on his Instagram yesterday, with the caption, “Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. & Mrs. Aikman,” crediting photographer Lily Ro Hernandez.
Hernandez shared the same photo shortly after with the caption, “What an honor to document this amazing couple surrounded by their family and friends.”
The couple had an intimate ceremony on the beach, followed by their reception at the Four Seasons Santa Barbara, reports the Dallas Morning News. Only close family and friends attended the affair, including Aikman's daughters, Jordan and Alexa, and Mooty's sons, Luke and Val. The ceremony was short and sweet, and the couple were already back at their home in Dallas by Sunday.
Aikman proposed to Mooty back in early June on a romantic vacation in Lake Como, Italy. At the time he posted a photo of the two holding glasses of wine on a boat to his Instagram account with the caption, "June 2, 2017—A special day as I proposed to the love of my life."
The two have reportedly been dating since February 2016, and Aikman regularly posts photos of the couple to his social media accounts.
The lead NFL game analyst for Fox and his new family will live in Highland Park, a suburb of Dallas, where they are almost finished building a hilltop home that overlooks Turtle Creek.
