You didn't see the sign until it was too late and he caught you completely by surprise. You were swept you off your feet, making all your proposal dreams come to life...most likely. Either way, all that matters now is you've got that ring on your finger and are going to marry the love of your life! Looking back though, he was kind of acting like a total weirdo at the time, right? Be it big or small, there were some clear signs that it was happening. Here, real brides share the obvious (and not so obvious) proposal signs they were oblivious to before he popped the question.
He insisted on a golf cart ride in the rain.
"We were on a beach vacation with my family and it had been raining for the first several days. The ring must have been really burning a whole in his pocket because on the third day of rain, when there was a slight break, he asked me to go on a golf cart ride. We were bored out of our minds inside, so of course I said yes. He drove around clearly looking for the perfect proposal spot, something I didn't pick up on at the time. But now it's definitely weird that we went across the same bridge twice before he stopped in the middle, got out and got down on one knee!" — Lizzie
He ordered the chicken.
"My guy is a steak guy through and through, but on this particular night he completely panicked and ordered the chicken. I thought maybe he was just venturing out and trying something different. Instead, he proposed. Ha!" — Lauren
He wouldn't let me wear his jacket.
"I still don't know how I missed this! We were on a plane, and I was cold so I asked to borrow his jacket and he said no when he'd normally just give it up. His excuse was that he was chilly too, which never happens. Apparently he had the ring box in the pocket of that jacket." — Jordan

He wanted to go to the beach at 9pm.
"We live near the beach, so that's not the weird part. Asking me to go for a walk on the sand with him at 9pm — after I just got home from a long day at work — was definitely out of the ordinary now looking back." — Kacie
He asked for my parents' digits.
"We were getting ready to go out of the country so he told me he just wanted to write down my parents' phone numbers for the house sitter in case anything were to happen while we were away. At the time, it made total sense, and I didn't think twice about it. Turns out, he really just wanted their digits so he could get my dad's blessing before he proposed." — Mandy
He freaked when I tried to open his backpack.
"We went hiking together, and while he was carving our initials in a nearby tree, I tried to open his backpack to get a water bottle out. He saw me out of the corner of his eye and literally sprinted back to get it for me. Obviously, the ring box was in there." — Dominique
