The dust has finally settled after Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra's multi-event wedding extravaganza, but this weekend Chopra is back in India celebrating another lavish—and seriously beautiful—wedding, this time for friends Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta.
The couple, who are the children of two prominent Indian families, have been friends since childhood and got engaged in Mumbai last year, The Hindustan Times reports. Following in Indian tradition, they will celebrate their marriage with three days worth of events, and the nuptials themselves took place at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai on Saturday. To celebrate the occasion, Priyanka Chopra (who was one of many Bollywood stars in attendance) wore an icy blue Sari decorated with thousands of crystals. Her hair was styled in loose barrel curls, and she accessorized her look with a pearl bracelet and the gorgeous diamond engagement ring Jonas gave her when he popped the question last summer. The actress posted a photo of herself to Instagram with her mom, Maduh, and brother, Siddartha, who also attended the affair. Jonas was unable to make it to the festivities, as he's currently in the U.S. promoting the Jonas Brothers's reunion.
The groom's father is estimated to be worth $50 billion—which, according Forbes, makes him the 13th richest man in the world—and per to The Daily Mail, he spared "no expense" when it came to planning his son's wedding. While it's unclear what type of fun is in store for guests at Saturday's event, they were previously treated to performances by Coldplay and The Chainsmokers at a pre-wedding event in St. Moritz, Switzerland, The Hindustan Times reports.
Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta's festivities are reminiscent of Chopra and Jonas's wedding, which took place in Delhi in Mumbai in December of last year. There were multiple days of events held in the couple's honor, which reportedly cost $500,000. During a recent appearance on Carpool Karaoke, host James Corden asked Jonas if there was ever a moment when he thought, "I'm done with these weddings?"
"Yes," Jonas laughed in response. "It was when I looked at the bill."
