The second royal wedding of 2018 is less than a week away, and the palace is gearing up for the big day by revealing some of the exciting details that we can expect to see at Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's wedding. "Princess Eugenie of York and Mr Brooksbank have asked London based cake designer Sophie Cabot to make their wedding cake," the palace revealed. Cabot—who grew up with a love of baking and learned her skills from her grandmother and mother—started her bespoke cake design business in 2014. She was recognized by the couple through her involvement with the Duke of York’s Pitch@Palace programme, where she supplied specially decorated bespoke biscuits.
Cabot was originally a costume designer, and the palace said that her artistic skills are apparent in her unique creations. The baker loves creating sugar flower designs and hand-painting on her confectionary creations.
“I am incredibly excited to be given this wonderful opportunity to create such a special and unique cake," Cabot said. "It has been lovely working with Princess Eugenie and Jack and I really hope they enjoy the cake on the day.”
