We are just weeks away from the second royal wedding of the year. Princess Eugenie of York is set to marry commoner Jack Brooksbank on October 12, and while we don’t know exactly what she will be wearing down the aisle, we might have a good idea of who.
Eugenie previously told British Vogue's features editor, Ellie Pithers, "I'm not telling anyone who is making it, but I can say it is a British-based designer."
"[The dress] is the one thing that I was really decisive about," the royal said of the frock. "As soon as we announced the wedding, I knew the designer, and the look, straight away. I never thought I'd be the one who knew exactly what I like, but I've been pretty on top of it."
While this royal bride-to-be hopes to keep the label under wraps, British tabloid Tatler predicts that Eugenie's wedding dress will be by one of three designers: Stella McCartney, Vivienne Westwood, or Erdem, according to Daily Mail.
Stella McCartney's previous royal wedding experience definitely makes the designer a strong contender. (McCartney was the woman behind Meghan Markle’s wedding reception dress!) She's also known for her sustainable fashion, which fits right in with the rest of Eugenie’s eco-conscious day, as the princess told British Vogue her wedding day will be completely plastic-free.
But considering Eugenie's affinity for Vivienne Westwood, the designer is also a strong possibility. Eugenie even rocked a Vivienne Westwood ensemble to Kate Middleton and Prince William’s wedding back in 2011.
Finally, Erdem also seems to be a royal favorite. The designer is known for bold prints and florals, something Eugenie’s wardrobe is already filled with. She notably wore a floral dress by the designer for her engagement announcement and was also recently shot in Erdem for British Vogue. Erdem was also a top contender when rumors were flying over who was to design Meghan Markle's wedding dress.
We can't wait to see who ultimately scores the honor!
