It may be five months after Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank tied the knot, but the princess is still reliving her big day. The 28-year-old took to Instagram to share a sweet side-by-side of herself as a kid and at her actual wedding.
"Same same but different,” she captioned the shot. The split screen shot shows two photos: One of Eugenie as a kid wearing a white, long sleeved dress and holding a bouquet of white flowers, and another of her from her wedding day in October 2018, where she is seen wearing her now iconic gown by Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos. While adult Eugenie swapped the adorable flower crown she donned as a tot for a regal tiara, she did have a strikingly similar bouquet of flowers. Royal fans flooded the comments, writing notes like, “Absolutely beautiful then and now,” and, “The flowers are almost the same!” Even her hairstyle looks almost identical with strands framing her face!
The princess wore a veil in her throwback photo, but she ditched it for the real wedding to show off her scoliosis surgery scar on her back.
“I had always wanted a low back—part of it was showing my scar and I believe scars tell a story about your past and your future, and it’s a way of getting rid of a taboo,” she told People back in the fall. “For me, it’s a way of communicating with people who are going through either similar situations with scoliosis or having a scar of their own that they are trying to deal with.”
Eugenie and Jack tied the knot at an incredibly lavish ceremony at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on October 12, 2018. The couple continued the celebration during their two-day reception, which included pizza, a carousel, and a performance by the bride's close friend, Elie Goulding.
We're still living vicariously through your wedding throwbacks too, Eugenie.
