If you've been feeling the void in prince-princess love stories since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's May 19 royal wedding, not to worry—there's another set of royal nuptials right around the corner. Princess Eugenie (daughter of Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew, first cousin of Prince William and Prince Harry) is set to marry fiancé Jack Brooksbank on October 12, 2018. And after the wedding, her name will become...complicated, to say the least.
According to Hello! magazine, the royal will stick with the tradition of taking her husband's last name, which would make her official title "HRH Princess Eugenie, Mrs Jack Brooksbank."
The latest royal couple announced their engagement on January 22, after Brooksbank had popped the question in Nicaragua with a sapphire-and-diamond ring over the New Year's holiday. While their wedding isn't quite as highly publicized as Meghan and Harry's was, they have shared quite a few details about what we can expect from their big day.
The wedding will take place at St. George's Chapel, which you may recognize from Meghan and Harry's royal wedding. And just like their cousins, they plan to make it a massive event. Last week, the palace announced the official guest list for Princess Eugenie's wedding, and the plan may sound familiar. "Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie of York and Mr. Jack Brooksbank will invite members of the public to join in the celebrations of their wedding on Friday 12th October," they wrote in a statement, which mimics what Meghan and Harry did for their own nuptials on May 19. "1,200 members of the public will be able to view the arrival of the congregation and Members of the Royal Family, listen to a live broadcast of the Marriage Service and watch the start of the procession as the couple depart at the end of the Wedding ceremony," they added via Twitter.
TBD if Princess Eugenie will don one of her infamous fascinators along with a veil on her big day, but here's hoping.
