Princess Eugenie made the world swoon when she released the official portraits from her elegant royal wedding, which she celebrated back in October of 2018. Since then, a few more never-before-seen shots of the big day have snuck into the public arena, absolutely delighting fans who couldn't get enough of her regal bridal looks. Over the weekend, Princess Eugenie herself shared a rare moment from the wedding, this time providing a glimpse into a heartwarming moment she enjoyed with her father before getting married.

On Instagram, Princess Eugenie posted an image of her father—Prince Andrew, Duke of York—giving her a hug in her wedding dress. She published the shot as a tribute to him on Father's Day, writing in the caption, "Happy Father's Day to all fathers and of course to my Pups. Thank you for many years of happiness and for this special moment on 12th October 2018."

The photo also offers a perfect view of Princess Eugenie's stunning Peter Pilotto gown, which was designed with a deep, plunging back meant to show off a scar from a scoliosis surgery she had when she was just 12. In interviews since the wedding, Princess Eugenie has talked about how important it was for her to embrace her scar and make it an integral part of her wedding day.

“I had always wanted a low back—part of it was showing my scar, and I believe scars tell a story about your past and your future, and it’s a way of getting rid of a taboo,” she said in a recent audio recording for an exhibition that featured the gown. “For me, it’s a way of communicating with people who are going through either similar situations with scoliosis or having a scar of their own that they are trying to deal with.”

People noted that the Instagram post also reveals Princess Eugenie's adorable nickname for her dad: Pups. He had been photographed helping her adjust her train during the big day and then beaming for cameras—a sweet testament of their close father-daughter relationship.
