On the eve of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's royal wedding, their officiant has some kind words for the happy couple. Speaking to reporters at Jack and Eugenie's wedding rehearsal on Thursday, David Conner, the Dean of Windsor, revealed that it has been a "real pleasure" to work with the pair, who he says are perfect for one another.
The reverend, who Sky News notes was also involved in Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's royal wedding back in May, will be delivering Eugenie and Jack's service on Friday and has an important vision for their big day. "It's obviously going to be quite a grand occasion, but I hope also it will have an air of intimacy about it," he said. "You just have to remember that it is their day and really do your very best to focus on them and not on the hundreds of famous and semi-famous people who have been around."
The couple reportedly held their rehearsal on Thursday evening at St. George's Chapel, which is where their wedding will take place on Friday. In attendance at the practice run were several members of their families, including Prince Andrew, Sarah Ferguson, and Princess Beatrice, People reports.
Per Sky News, Eugenie has attended church services at St. George's for decades, so Reverend Conner said he hopes that she feels "quite safe" in the space. "I've been here now for more or less 20 years and when I came she was a girl at our little prep school just down the hill. It seems as if our knowledge of each other goes back a long way," he said. "I suppose she regards this place — even though it is a bit big and grand—as, in a way, her parish church."
