The royal family had a momentous 2018, what with multiple weddings and the birth of a new heir, so social-media savvy Princess Eugenie is taking a moment to look back. Tuesday marked the anniversary of the royal's engagement to now-husband Jack Brooksbank, and the 28-year-old took to Instagram with the most adorable photo to commemorate the occasion.
Although we now know that Brooksbank popped the question on New Year's Day last year during a trip to Nicaragua, the palace didn't share the exciting news with the rest of the world until January 22. The announcement also showcased the newly betrothed pair's engagement photos, one of which Eugenie reposted to her personal Insta account on Tuesday.
The image shows the positively beaming lovebirds gazing at the bride's bauble—a padparadscha sapphire surrounded by diamonds. Brooksbank explained in a joint interview with the BBC last year that he chose the ring because "it changes color from every different angle that you look at it, which is what I think of Eugenie. That she changes color, and it's just so amazing." The color-shifting royal also sported a floral Erdem frock in the social media throwback.
"#tbt to exactly this day last year - Jack and I announced our engagement," Eugenie captioned the photo. "What a year it’s been since then and how exciting for 2019."
The pair went on to wed at St. George's Chapel October 12, for which the bride donned a stunning Peter Pilotto gown that revealed her spinal-surgery scar.
