There's major royal news breaking today! And, no, it's not Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's engagement. Prince William and Duchess Katherine have just announced they are expecting a third baby! The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, parents to Prince George, four, and Princess Charlotte, two, will be welcoming their third bundle of joy next spring, in April or May. And we can't wait for more adorable family photos, taken by Kate, of course.
Our favorite royal family is expanding. Not content with the overwhelming cuteness of Prince George and Princess Charlotte, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have announced they are adding to their family. In a statement this morning, the royal couple said: "Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their third child." The couple planned to hold off on the announcement but were forced to tell their good news to the world earlier than hoped as Kate has again been feeling less than perfect during her pregnancy. Kate was hospitalized during both of her previous pregnancies with Hyperemesis Gravidarum, an extreme case of morning sickness. After missing a planned appearance this morning, the duke and duchess sent out the news via the above statement.
According to the Daily Mail, the rest of the royal family, including the queen, Prince Charles, and the Duchess of Cornwall are thrilled with the news of the new royal prince or princess. William and Kate's new baby will bump Prince Harry down to sixth place in line for the throne, taking over his spot as fifth.
In July, while visiting Poland, the duchess joked about adding to her adorable royal family when a Polish fan handed them a toy meant for a newborn. In her typical well-mannered fashion, Middleton laughed it off and joked, "We will just have to have more babies."
We're beyond thrilled for the royal couple! Now all we need is a royal engagement announcement—hint, hint, Prince Harry.
