Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal wedding may be less than a month away, but big brother Prince William and Kate Middleton are doing some celebrating of their own. Today marks the couple's seventh wedding anniversary, and the couple shared a sweet throwback photo in honor of it.
Kensington Palace's Instagram account shared a photo of the couple driving off after their wedding, in a getaway car with a license plate reading “JU5T WED," with a 5 clearly replacing the "S." The newlyweds left their wedding reception dark blue vintage Aston Martin Volante that belonged to Prince Charles.
"Seven years ago today – thank you for all the lovely messages on The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding anniversary,” Kensington Palace wrote in their Instagram caption.
Since tying the knot in 2011, the couple has hit some incredible milestones in their relationship. The two recently gave birth to their third child, a son named Prince Louis Arthur Charles just days ago on April 23. The new prince joins his big siblings, Prince George Alexander Louis, 4, and Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, 2.
Prince Williams and Kate met when they were both students at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. Prince William proposed in 2010, giving Kate a massive sapphire and diamond ring. The ring once belonged to William's late mother, Princess Diana. The two walked down the aisle one year later at London’s Westminster Abbey. Kate wore an iconic Alexander McQueen gown while William donned a Guards Mounted Officer’s uniform. Following the ceremony, the two officially moved into Kensington Palace together.
Happy anniversary, Prince William and Duchess Kate!
