It's only been 10 days since the royal wedding, and already Meghan Markle is reportedly making some major changes to the British royal family—namely, to the relationship between Prince Harry and Prince Charles. According to the Daily Mail, the reportedly chilly relationship between the Duke of Sussex and his dad is warming up quite a bit, and it's allegedly all thanks to the Duchess of Sussex.
"There has been a wedding bonus for all the family: a sort of mega-watt warming effect," an unnamed "family source" told the Daily Mail. According to the outlet, Prince Charles and Markle are very fond of each other, with the two bonding over their shared taste for organic food, appreciating each other's work, and Markle becoming friends with Prince Charles's wife, Camilla Bowles. (We've also seen Prince Charles throw the newlyweds' private reception at Frogmore House and volunteer to walk the Duchess of Sussex down the aisle.) "Meghan met Charles and was bowled over by his charm," the source told the Daily Mail.
"She told Harry he was wonderful: welcoming, warm, hard-working, kind and stable. She made it clear that he should appreciate him and bond more."
Meanwhile, the source said Charles told his friends that Markle is "so intelligent and so nice." "She makes Harry happy. We could not like her more," he said, according to the source.
As a result, the Daily Mail reported, Prince Charles and Prince Harry have started patching things up, with Prince William warming up to their dad as well. According to the outlet, the two princes had a rocky relationship with their father after the death of their mother, Princess Diana, with the brothers reportedly blaming Prince Charles for being absent when they were kids. Over the past few months, however, Markle has reportedly caused them to smooth things over, to the point that Prince Harry gave a touching speech at Prince Charles's 70th birthday party, three days after the royal wedding.
"Pa, while I know that you’ve asked that today not be about you, you must forgive me if I don’t listen to you," he said in the speech, according to the Daily Mail. "Much like when I was younger. Instead, I ask everyone here to say a huge thank you to you, for your incredible work." Three cheers for Meghan Markle!
