Meghan Markle wasn't the only one who took her wedding into her own hands on her big day today: Prince Harry apparently went totally "off-the-cuff" with his reception speech during the post-ceremony luncheon at Windsor Castle’s St. George’s Hall. The groom apparently won the crowd with his snarky jokes, but made everyone smile when he thanked the crowd for attending his special day.

“He did all the ‘Thank you’s,’" a guest of the reception told People. The attendee, who also attended the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton in 2011, said that the prince got plenty of cheers when he said, "my wife and I."

“It was very off-the-cuff, which was lovely,” the guest added. “He promised that all the Americans wouldn’t steal the swords and said, ‘Please, when you leave, be quiet as you don’t want to wake the neighbors,’ which was quite fun.”

They continued, “It was more than you would ever imagine it to be. It did feel like we were really part of their very special occasion. It just felt about the two of them, which was great.”

The royal reception, which took place after the ceremony at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, is one of two wedding afterparties for the bride and groom. Following the luncheon, the couple will join 200 of their closest family and friends to continue the celebration at a second reception hosted by Prince Charles at the Frogmore House in Windsor.
