Another step toward an engagement for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The actress has already won cool points with Prince William and Kate Middleton, but is she ready for the most important introduction of all? As it turns out, she is! Fresh off their three-week vacation, Markle finally met her royal beau’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, in early September. Naturally, a source revealed to Us Weekly, the actress was “a little nervous” at the thought of meeting the 91-year-old monarch. (It took Middleton five years to score face time with the queen.)
It appears as though Harry secretly orchestrated this introduction. The couple jetted off to visit Prince Charles and Harry’s stepmother, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, at their their 53,000-acre estate in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. But Harry had something up his sleeve. “He wanted to introduce Meghan to the queen,” a source revealed to the entertainment source. So, a day after they arrived in Scotland, the couple headed over to Balmoral Castle, the queen’s summer residence. “It went well. It’ll no doubt be the first of many encounters.”
So, where’s the ring?! According to the source, palace aides have already begun preparations for an engagement announcement. As we know, the royal has already created a ring using diamonds from a brooch that once belonged to his mother, Princess Diana. Last week, the actress opened up on her relationship with the royal for the first time during an interview with Vanity Fair.
“We’re a couple,” she explained. “We’re in love. I’m sure there will be a time when we will have to come forward and present ourselves and have stories to tell, but I hope what people will understand is that this is our time. This is for us. It’s part of what makes it so special, that it’s just ours. But we’re happy. Personally, I love a great love story.”
