Hello, MTV, and welcome to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's crib. While the duo plans to migrate from Kensington Palace to the more reclusive and family-friendly Frogmore Cottage before the birth of their child, a new photo reveals that the expectant parents have yet another incredibly high-end livable property in their real estate portfolio: a farmhouse turned cottage in the Cotswolds. Don't let the vernacular fool you, though, considering there's nothing remotely shabby or quant about this royal humble abode.
According to the Daily Mail, Harry and Meghan's 18th-century second home boasts a four-bedroom former barn, two-bedroom "outhouse" for royal staff and visitors, and four acres of land in the countryside. Here's the real kicker, though—the luxury farmhouse racks up a £2.5 million price tag, which translates to about $3.2 million.
In case you need to see it to believe it (because we all do, let's be honest), royal reporter Emily Andrews shared a snippet of the home of Sussex via Twitter earlier Wednesday. According to the post, the property is deemed a "Grade II listed farmhouse and barn conversion."
Daily Mail notes that Meghan and Harry obtained a two-year lease prior to their wedding last May, which they'll likely honor even after their big move to Windsor Estate. The venue has also since seen its fair share of A-list guests, among them reportedly George and Amal Clooney and newlyweds Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Doria Ragland, Meghan's mother, has allegedly made a trip to the new digs, as well.
It makes sense that Harry and Meghan would choose a retreat in the Cotswolds—house hunting rumors within the area circulated back in October 2017, right before their engagement news broke. Conveniently located just an hour from London, the rural locale marks the site of Prince Charles's home, Highgrove House, where the Duke of Sussex and his brother, Prince William, spent a large majority of their childhood. The couple's home in the Cotswolds also remains in close proximity to members-only club and hotel Soho Farmhouse, a frequent getaway spot of Meghan's.
