With less than one week left until Prince Harry and Meghan Markle officially tie the knot, the very last details are all coming together, it seems, and that includes the royal wedding cake. In March, the couple announced that they had chosen Claire Ptak, owner of the London-based Violet bakery, to create their masterpiece. And on Tuesday, the Violet bakery shared the first images of the cake coming together, giving royal wedding fans their first glimpse of the confectionary masterpiece. Ptak first shared a picture of a large crate of fresh lemons with the caption, "And so it begins 🍋," followed by a snap of a beautiful layer of a cake, topped with peonies and the caption, "Petal perfect."

Though Chef Ptak didn't officially confirm that this is a first look at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding cake, all the signs point to them, from the lemons to the peonies (Markle's favorite flower!). Kensington Palace previously announced that the wedding cake will be a lemon elderflower cake and "will incorporate the bright flavours of spring." It will be covered with buttercream and decorated with fresh flowers, just like the one in Ptak's picture. If this is the very top of the official royal wedding cake, it really looks both delicious and beautiful.

As far as any other details of the big day, those are being kept under lock and key (literally). Though Markle's wedding dress is reportedly finished and currently stored in a secret location at Windsor Castle, the only person who'll see it before May 19 will be the queen, who gets a sneak peek.

But thanks to Chef Ptak, we all get to feel like the queen with a first look at the royal cake!
