Was Prince Harry crushing on lady love Meghan Markle before they met? As it happens, yes—yes, he was. During a Channel 4 special titled, When Harry Met Meghan: A Royal Romance, set to air in the U.K. on Friday, royal expert Katie Nicholl reveals that the prince described the actress as his "ideal girl" two years before they met. Guess these two were just meant to be.
“He had a crush on [Markle’s character] Rachel Zane two years before he met Meghan and the reason I know is because I was having drinks with one of his friends,” Nicholl said. “She told me she’d been on a night out with Prince Harry. He was single at the time, so she said, ‘Harry, who’s your ideal girl?’ And he said ‘Meghan Markle from Suits.’ ”
Markle began starring in the USA Network series back in 2011, and is currently filming her eighth, and last, season in her hometown of Toronto. Once filming ends, Markle will reportedly be making her way across the pond. According to a report from the Daily Mail, "well-placed sources in the U.S." told the publication that Markle had "prematurely" ended her VIP lease on the Audi SUV she's been driving since she's been filming the series. "It is believed that she will be spending more time in the UK," the source told the Mail. "It was a normal commercial contract. It was a car she was paying for, to be clear. She was being treated like a normal customer but, as an actress, with some VIP celebrity elements."
In the meantime, we're just waiting patiently for the engagement announcement. Sources at E! News previously revealed that the couple is basically on their way down the aisle—and close pals are already picking out wedding outfits! "While Meghan may not be wearing a ring or a formal engagement announced, it's fair to say they're as good as engaged now," a source gushed. "They've spoken about their marriage plans openly with each other, and friends and family around them are pretty much thinking about wedding attire already!"
