Taking a hiatus from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's pregnancy excitement, we're turning our attention back to Princess Eugenie's royal wedding to Jack Brooksbank. ICYMI, the bride looked as regal as ever, sporting a custom Peter Pilotto creation. Plus, the couple's venue decorations made the royal nuptials truly look straight out of a fairytale (have you seen that fall-inspired flower display!?). While the main event—the ceremony—remained highly publicized, few details have been shared from the couple's lunchtime reception at Windsor Castle. Prince Andrew, however, is here to curb our royal wedding curiosity and showcase even more flower power from the big day.
The father of the bride took to Instagram yesterday to share six separate flower arrangement photos (each just as ethereal and extravagant as the next) from Eugenie and Brooksbank's post-ceremony celebration. Hosted by Queen Elizabeth, the private afternoon event was held in St. George’s Hall's Waterloo Chamber within Windsor Castle, the same spot Harry and Meghan enjoyed their wedding reception.
According to the Duke of York's post, the formal lunch featured local, environmentally-conscious blooms. "The flower arrangements displayed during the Wedding Reception for Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank last Friday at Windsor Castle were created using autumnal foliage from Windsor Great Park and biodegradable oasis, following The Couple’s autumnal theme and eco-friendly request," he wrote. The floral displays vary from sprawling centerpieces to towering urn structures, each decked out with assorted fall hues and blooms.
During the reception, both Prince Andrew and Brooksbank gave speeches, while the couple's 800 guests dined on Scotch eggs and Yorkshire pudding with mini bites of beef. The four-tier, red velvet and chocolate wedding cake also made its debut.
Eugenie and Brooksbank's formal reception was just a small chunk of the newlyweds' wedding celebrations. That evening, royal guests migrated to the bride's family home, Royal Lodge in Windsor, for an intimate party, during which Eugenie stunned in a Zac Posen gown. The following day, the couple also extended the festivities for a carnival-themed affair, with a performance from Ellie Goulding. Ahem, Prince Andrew, we'd love to see some flower photos from these festivities, as well. Just saying.
