When you're dating a royal, you have to know what you're in for. As you know, Prince Harry and actress Meghan Markle are currently head-over-heels for each other and, ahem, there's even rumors buzzing about an upcoming engagement! Naturally, the British royal family is constantly pushed into the media spotlight, and dealing with constant scrutiny could prove to be a bit tough for the Suits actress to handle. Well, Prince Albert of Monaco, whose late mother was the utterly beautiful Grace Kelly, recently offered some words of advice to Markle.
Bringing someone into the royal circle, learning protocal, and handling the intrusive nature of the press, “is a pretty tough act,” he told People. “Especially in the British royal family, which is scrutinized by the press as no one’s been.”
Harry and Markle “seem to be having a good deal of success so far," but “sooner or later, she’s going to have to face the full onslaught." He continues: “I can’t imagine how that will be on them, on her. Being an actress, in a way, gets you a little prepared but nothing really can prepare you for the constant pace of it. Particularly now that the pace has changed so much. It’s hard for anyone to handle. ”
Albert, whose wedding to Princess Charlene was subjected to intense media scrutiny, said, “The only kind of advice I can offer is the British expression: ‘Keep calm and carry on.’“
Since the couple's romance surfaced, the media has paid close attention to the actress. It was once alleged that Markle wasn't allowed to attend Pippa Middleton's wedding to James Matthews, as Middleton feared a media frenzy on her big day. Eventually, the 35-year-old did receive an invitation to the nuptials, but was seated separately from her royal beau during the reception.
