This past weekend James Matthews and Pippa Middleton's wedding took place, and shame on you if you thought we were done talking about (i.e. fawning over) it. You can read all about it here if you haven't already, but prepare yourself to be envious about all the gorgeous, royalty-worthy details. And as if Pippa Middleton's lacy Giles Deacon wedding dress wasn't enough to make you jealous, the new Mrs. and her new husband, James Matthews, just jetted off to their honeymoon destination, and it's hard not to feel major FOMO when you see this sunny hotspot.
Less than 24 hours after the "I dos" were said, the new Mr. and Mrs. Matthews were spotted at Los Angeles's LAX airport, en route to their honeymoon destination, eye witnesses reported to E! News. Kudos to these two for making their flight after all that wedding madness. We'd definitely need a couple of days to recharge after such a late night and (presumably) several toasting glasses of champagne!
But we can't blame these newlyweds for wanting to get to their final destination ASAP, especially considering how gorgeous their honeymoon getaway looks. Rumor has it that the couple will be honeymooning in the Pacific Islands, particularly Tetiaroa—a two-and-a-half square mile necklace of coral islets that surround a crystal-blue lagoon.
"They were happy but tired," a witness told E! News of the honeymooners who were going through customs. Yep, an 11-hour flight and a reception that reportedly ended at 4 a.m. will do that to ya! "People around them were definitely staring and wondering if it was really Pippa," noted the source.
Stay strong, Pippa—you're almost at your honeymoon destination and meanwhile, we're majorly jealous over here! On tropical Tetiaroa, Pippa and James are rumored to be staying at the Brando, a resort that was previously owned by—you guessed it—actor Marlon Brando, before being renovated into a collection of luxury villas. (It's the same spot where Barack Obama became an Instagram husband.) According to the Daily Mail, each of the dreamy villas feature private decks overlooking Tetiaroa's white sand beaches, infinity plunge pools, and outdoor baths. And for eco-conscious honeymoons, the resort is also sustainable, toting seawater air-conditioning, solar electricity, and generators running on coconut oil.
"The Polynesian villa is everything people would expect—miles of white sand, beautiful scenery, and 24-hour-a-day service from staff—and they're staying there for a week," a source told The Sun, according to Marie Claire.
Sounds heavenly, right? But before you get booking, it's worth noting that villas start at around $3,900 a night, says the Daily Mail. Bet this is why honeymoon registries exist!
This is only the first stop of Pippa and James's post-"I do" getaway. After Tetiaroa, they plan on heading to Scotland (where Pippa's new in-laws own a mansion), and then they'll be off to the French Open's final match.
"Pippa was very heavily involved in the organization of the big day, and they've decided on two very different honeymoon breaks—first to a stunning island out in French Polynesia but then to Scotland because it's a special place for both of them," confirmed The Sun's source.
Again, we're not above squeezing into a suitcase…
