By now, we're betting you've seen, loved, and been unapologetically envious over the to-die-for photos from Pippa Middleton's wedding day. And if you haven't, where the hell have you been?! Go now and revel in the gorgeousness of those high-society nuptials! (You can view all the photos from James Matthews and Pippa Middleton's wedding here.) But while most of the world has seen Pippa Middleton's wedding dress (in all its lacy glory) and her adorable flower girl and page boy Princess Charlotte and Prince George, one wedding-day detail not everyone may have seen is the newlyweds' wedding invitation. And considering how coveted those invites were, that's not all that surprising! But we just got a glimpse of the new Mr. and Mrs. Matthews's wedding invitation, and it's so pretty, we just had to share!
Yesterday, on May 20, 2017, Pippa Middleton wed James Matthews at St. Mark's Englefield. There, Pippa stunned in her Giles Deacon wedding dress featuring allover lace, a high Victorian neckline, a voluminous A-line skirt, cap sleeves, and a keyhole back; the bride's sister, the Duchess of Cambridge, wrangled the itty bitty bridal party in a peach Alexander McQueen dress and matching fascinator; and finally the couple said their I do's.
Later that day, the wedding party headed to the Middleton family home in Bucklebury, England, where the reception took place in an expansive glass greenhouse in the property's garden that can reportedly fit up to 350 guests inside.
But how did all those guests (including Prince Harry's girlfriend, Meghan Markle) find out about the when and the where of this party? (Besides reading Brides, of course!) Well, guests received a wedding invitation (duh) ahead of Pippa and James's big day—and classic, traditional brides are totes going to want to copy-cat the couple's stationery design.
Originally posted by wedding guest Clémence von Mueffling (that's a British high-society name if we ever heard one), according to Harper's Bazaar, a snap of the wedding invite appeared on social media ahead of the festivities.
"Michael and Carol Middleton request the pleasure of your company to celebrate the marriage of Pippa and James," reads the simple white card stock. Featuring vines of budded blooms, the design is understated yet refined, and we're totally in love with the classic vibe.
Clémence von Mueffling (we'll never get tired of saying that name) has since deleted the photo of the invite from her Instagram. As we all know, the Middletons were trying to keep the wedding's reception as private as possible, requiring guests to check in at a separate location with a password. So perhaps Clémence von Mueffling was asked to delete the snap. We'd oblige too if we were her. Don't want to anger the royally related…
