Pippa Middleton's Wedding: Everything You Need to Know
Is this real life?! We've been positively dying for some wedding details ever since the Duchess of Cambridge's little sis, Pippa Middleton, got engaged in July of last year. And now, drumroll please, her wedding date and location have been officially confirmed!
Although there's been several rumors of when Middleton will tie the knot, there was no official confirmation of her wedding date—until now, that is! Middleton herself just announced that she'll wed her hedge fund manager love on May 20, 2017 at the St. Mark’s Englefield in Berkshire, reports E! News. As for the reception, guests will travel seven miles away to Carole and Michael Middleton's home in Bucklebury, where they will host the celebration in a luxury marquee in the garden. Gahhh! This is all happening so fast!
But wait for the BEST news of all.
Princess Charlotte is set to steal our hearts as an adorable mini bridesmaid for the couple, and Prince George will be taking on page boy duties. Squee!!
Prince Harry and Prince William also both made the guest list and rumor has it that the Duchess of Cambridge herself will serve as maid of honor. However, this may change, as according to reports, Kate Middleton wants to be careful of stealing her younger sister's thunder. Rev. Nick Wynne-Jones, resident priest at St Mark's, has also been tapped to officiate.
Last summer, Middleton's longtime love, James Matthews, popped the question with a megawatt vintage-inspired engagement ring featuring an octagonal-shaped halo. Cue the internet frenzy that hasn't let up since. "Miss Pippa Middleton and Mr James Matthews are delighted to announce that they became engaged on Sunday, July 17, and plan to marry next year," the couple said in a short joint statement.
Keep in mind that this isn't the first time Middleton will be in the spotlight in a highly-publicized big day. At 2011's royal wedding, Middleton was the one who took the crown when it came to bridesmaid style in her still-talked about Alexander McQueen white sheath. "I was surprised and still don't understand it," the former maid-of-honor previously told the Daily Mail of everyone's obsession over her figure-hugging dress. So it goes without saying that the world is expecting a lot when it comes to this bride's big-day ensemble.
So what does Middleton plan to wear come May 20th? Even though the one-time tomboy once told her family, "If I had to get married, it would be in my tennis whites—shorts with no pleats or frills," she admits she'll probably go with something more traditional. (Like that famous Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen wedding dress her big sister donned, perhaps?) "That was a phase I went through as a little girl and I was having a bit of a battle about wearing a dress," Middleton told the Daily Mail of her previous plan of a tennis whites wedding ensemble. "I wasn't into dresses as an 8-year-old," she shared.
We're crossing our fingers for another Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen stunner!
