Okay let's just get it out there, no one should ever feel obligated to lose weight for their wedding. One more time for the people in the back? No one should ever feel obligated to lose weight for their wedding. When it comes down to it, your wedding-day body is literally just your body in a wedding dress. That's all, folks. But it can seem that from the moment that engagement ring is slipped on, you're expected to slim down. The amount of pressure society puts on brides-to-be to start shedding for the wedding is frankly ridiculous, and it seems like no bride is immune to it—not even the royal ones. Royally-related Pippa Middleton is in the final countdown to her May 20 wedding to hedge fund manager James Matthews and, according to one gossip site, is allegedly upping her workouts ahead of the big day.
E! News recently snapped a few shots of the Duchess of Cambridge's bride-to-be sis leaving the fitness center and private club KX Gym, dressed in some adorbs workout wear and looking totally fresh-faced. E! reports that Middleton had just attended an hour-and-fifteen-minute Pilates class and, in addition to Pilates, also abides by a strict diet plan.
According to the entertainment source, Middleton eats according to the SirtFood Diet, which includes a seven-day regimen of consuming 1,000 calories per day for three days, 1,500 calories per day for another three days, and juicing throughout the week.
But here's the thing. Middleton was already known for living a super healthy lifestyle before she even became a bride-to-be. Both she and her fiancé are accomplished tennis players, and back in 2015 Middleton and Matthews competed in both a Swedish 50-mile swim-and-track race and a cross-country ski race in Norway. (Casual…)
So whether Middleton is actually kicking her fitness routine into high gear before her walk down the aisle is up for debate. All we know for sure is that this is one bride-to-be who's active because she clearly loves being so—not because she wants to squeeze into a two sizes too small wedding dress.
And after all, the prettiest of brides are the healthy and happy ones.
