There's a new royal relative in town: Arthur Michael William! Pippa Middleton, the younger sister of the Duchess of Cambridge, and her husband James Matthews have revealed the name of their baby, according to The Mail on Sunday.
The Mail cited the child's birth certificate, and we have an idea of how they chose the baby's three-part moniker. The name Michael likely pays homage to James’ brother Michael Matthews, who passed away at age 22 after climbing Mount Everest in 1999. Michael has another important meaning, as it is the name of Pippa and Kate's father.
Arthur will be first cousins with royals Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, along with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's future baby. Baby Arthur was born at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in London, just like his cousins. He was born just days after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced that they too are expecting a child. Shortly after the Pippa and James announced their pregnancy, Kate Middleton and Prince William released a statement saying that they are “thrilled” for the couple.
Pippa and James tied the knot in May 2017 at St. Mark’s Church in Englefield — and both the couple's their royal nephew and niece, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, were among the bridal party. According to People, a source close to the couple said that the two are looking forward to “having children and leading a quiet life."
The couple has yet to share a photo of their newborn, but we can't wait to see if he shares any resemblance to his cousins.
