Pink has come a long way since her “Missundaztood” days. The singer recently opened up about the ups and downs of her marriage to husband Carey Hart and all of the challenges that come along with motherhood.
“The difference between this record and a lot of other records was I was living a normal life while writing,” the pop star told USA Today. “Normally, since I was 19, I’ve gone: ‘Make a record, promo, go on tour. Make a record, promo, go on tour.’ It’s been this cycle. This is the first time I’ve been like, ‘Take my daughter to preschool. Go on a date with my husband.’ It’s real life that’s been on my mind.”
The 38-year-old singer-songwriter continued, gushing over her husband.
“He’s really good,” she said. “He knows when he goes too far and he’ll apologize, which is a wonderful trait in a human being. I do not possess that trait: I will go too far and still not apologize. It’s awful to be married to me. He’s the rock and I’m the storm, but it’s fun.”
The “True Love” singer elaborated on Hart’s impressive abilities as a father in an additional interview with The Guardian on Friday. “There are moments where I look at [Carey] and he is the most thoughtful, logical, constant… He’s like a rock. He’s a good man,” she said. “He’s a good dad. He’s just the kind of dad I thought he’d be and then some.”
And Hart has plenty to say about his rock-star wife as well: “Congrats to my bad ass wife @pink !!!!! She can do it all. Bad ass biker woman, amazing mother, best friend, and platinum selling artists! Congrats on the amazing album release today, and I can’t wait to see you kick ass on Saturday Night Live tomorrow! Love you baby,” Hart wrote in an Instagram caption.
