A representative for Facinelli confirms that the actor popped the question to Alexander at the top of the Empire State Building earlier this week. "She knew it was coming but was overwhelmed during the proposal," a source said of Alexander's reaction.
The happy bride-to-be shared the above photo on her Instagram account, but gave little indication of their happy news, only writing, "Top of the world with my love @peterfacinelli @empirestatebldg #Love #ES." She did, however, take to her Twitter account to share a quick and cryptic thanks for all the warm congratulations her fans were sharing. "That's for all the love + support :) #HappyTimes."
While there's no word on the ring just yet, based on a photo shared on the official Twitter account for the Empire State Building, seen above, it looks like Alexander was still sporting a unique elephant ring that Facinelli had gifted her earlier in the week. While it's probably not the real engagement ring, the caption she shared about the bauble on her Instagram account proves it's a great indicator of their commitment to each other, writing,"Elephants are our thing. Patience, strength + wisdom. Thank u to my thoughtful luv @peterfacinelli #ES #ElephantShoe."
It comes as little surprise that these two are finally taking the next step in their relationship. In 2012, just after going public with their romance, Alexander gushed about life with Facinelli in an interview with People, saying, "I know how [the relationship] makes me feel in my heart... It makes me feel really good. He's a good guy with a great family and I couldn't be any luckier."
Their marriage will be the bride's first marriage and the groom's second. Facinelli was previously married to Jennie Garth before separating after 11 years of marriage in early 2012.
