Nearly a year-and-a-half after Dancing with the Stars Maksim Chmerkovskiy got down on one knee to pop the question to fiancée Peta Murgatroyd, we're finally getting details on their upcoming summer nuptials. The couple recently dished on their chosen wedding venue, which has made the list of BRIDES Best Wedding Venues of 2017, but it appears as though Murgatroyd is dragging her feet a bit in regards to the big day—at least, according to her dancer beau!
“In my personal life, I can’t wait for my wedding in July,” Chmerkovskiy gushed to Vulcan magazine. “Peta keeps trying to postpone it, and I’m like ‘No, I want to marry you, godd— it!’ We have this crazy dream of getting married in a castle, so we want to try and make that happen—in New York.”
That dream is slowly coming true. The pair have since locked in Oheka Castle, located in Huntington, New York, as their wedding-day venue. The gorgeous estate boasts 23 acres of privacy, in addition providing jaw-dropping views of its illustrious gardens. "We went there; it's perfect," Chmerkovskiy told ABC of their Oheka Castle venue. "We're going to have it for two days. They're closing the whole hotel. It's going to be unbelievable!"
I remember when I was passing by this castle when I first immigrated, and [I said,] 'That's where I want to have my wedding'—and I just said it so [casually,] and now it's happening," the groom-to-be explained.
Ironically, the dancing pro has since removed himself from the wedding planning process. But not to worry, it's for the sweetest reason. "I hate to admit, but I've just removed myself from it," he continued telling ABC, "I want her to have the wedding of her dreams."
The couple recently welcomed their son, Shai Aleksander, in January, and we can only help but wonder if the little one is going to serve as his parents ring bearer.
