Congratulations are in order for Patton Oswalt and Meredith Salenger, as the couple said their "I dos" over the weekend! The actor and Salenger were married at Jim Henson Studios in Los Angeles, and actress Martha Plimpton, whom Salenger gushed as the most genuinely marvelous woman”officiated. Shortly after the ceremony, the couple shared the special news via Instagram and Twitter.
"What’d you guys do yesterday?" Oswalt wrote alongside a photo of himself, the blushing bride, and his daughter, Alice Rigney. For the occasion, Salenger wore an off-the-shoulder wedding dress, and opted for a half-up-half-down hairstyle.
Little Rigney took her job as flower girl very seriously, too. Oswalt shared a photo of his little girl (who's rocking the prettiest flower crown, we might add), via Twitter and captioned, "World Champion Flower Girl."
The couple announced their engagement early July, with Salenger sharing a post of her stunning diamond sparkler on Instagram. "It's official. I'm the luckiest happiest girl in the universe!!!!" she wrote. "I love you @pattonoswalt I love you Alice Oswalt! #YesYesYes."
Oswalt and Salenger went public with their romance in June at the Los Angeles premiere Baby Driver, and a source close to the duo previously told People that the relationship was “new and they’re very happy.”
This is the actor's second marriage, as his first wife, Michelle McNamara, sadly passed away in her sleep in April 2016. The actor has been open about the grieving process, and most recently opened up about his loss on the anniversary of her passing.
"I plan things better. I'm more patient," he previously wrote on Facebook. "I still sleep badly, and my weight and health need some work, but that's combat damage. There's got to be a way to fix those without being shitty to friends and strangers who are struggling with chaos. I'll try. One year in. Another year starting. It's awful, but it's not fatal. Message received? Over and out."
