Finding a wedding gift that meets royal standards seems like no easy feat. But for Suits actor Patrick J. Adams, the stakes are even higher, considering his on-screen history with bride-to-be Meghan Markle. What exactly is the perfect present to gift your TV fiancée as she marries another (royal) groom IRL? Adams seems to have the answer, and it's incredibly fitting for the former actress.
Adams, who plays Mike Ross on Suits, dished about his wedding present ideas for Markle and Prince Harry yesterday in L.A. at the This Bar Saves Lives event, and he has a few viable options up his sleeve. He told Entertainment Tonight that the duo's wellbeing was at the forefront of his gifting decision making.
"We were trying to choose between like a blender or bread maker. You know something classy, like a good blender," Adams, who is married to Pretty Little Liars star Troian Bellisario, said to Entertainment Tonight. "Like a Vitamix, yeah. She's gonna need a Vitamix for sure." Let it be known that Adams has first dibs on Vitamix gifting rights, all other royal wedding guests out there.
Speaking of wedding guests, Adams confessed he might not be able to attend his on-screen love's May 19 wedding, but he'll be damned if his gift doesn't at least make it across the pond for the royal nuptials. "Whether I'm there or not, the Vitamix is going to the wedding," he said.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will most likely follow in Prince William and Kate Middleton's footsteps by asking for charitable donations in place of wedding presents. However, it definitely calls for something a bit more personal when it's for your future TV bride. Plus, considering Markle's notorious healthy lifestyle, it seems Adams might have hit the wedding gifting jackpot.
Even if Adams can't make an appearance to Markle's off-screen nuptials, he'll have his own turn at marrying her character, Rachel Zane, during the Suits season finale on April 25. Coincidentally, it seems Markle will have, not one, but two weddings this year, meaning we'll be lucky enough to see her in a wedding dress both on-screen and off.
The upcoming finale will also serve as both Markle's and Adams' grand Suits exits—both actors announced that the program's current season would be their last. However, it seems she still holds her costars close to heart, considering Kensington Palace reportedly contacted the cast and executives regarding wedding invites.
Meghan Markle should count her lucky stars for having such stellar costars because, let's be real here, a Vitamix is the gift that truly keeps on giving. Great work, Patrick J. Adams.
