Now this is going above the call of duty! One Tennessee paramedic left her wedding ceremony not to go to her reception but to attend to a crash site as a certified EMS. Turns out that Sarah Ray got a call after she said her "I dos" that her father and grandmother were involved in a car crash as they left the church to head to her wedding's reception. So, Ray and her new husband (who is also a paramedic) did what any other first responder would do ... she responded to the situation — in her wedding dress.
"My family comes in from out of town and this had to happened," Ray told News Channel 5 of the accident, which was caused by a driver running a red light. "I was scared on the way there."
Ray's mother is the one that took the now-viral photo, and explains she loves it because it really shows Ray's true self. "I love this photo because it shows her character and accentuates her beauty," Martin explained.

The bride is being touted as a hero, but to her, that was just another day on the job. "Anybody in the EMS field would've done the same thing. I don't know if what I did was special but I was in a wedding dress."
She also commented on the viral photo on Facebook, saying: "I just wanted to say thank you to everybody on here for all of your kind comments. My husband and I were both there, even though I was the only one pictured. I really don't think we did anything out of the ordinary. I would like to believe just about anybody in the medical field would have done the same, especially for family....dressed up or not. I'm just very thankful everyone was ok. We are proud of our job and proud to be a part of Montgomery County EMS."
Thankfully, everyone is safe, and the bride and groom were able to celebrate their new marriage as planned. What an incredible couple!
