It'll be a few more months until track star Jarryd Wallace competes in the upcoming Paralympics, but this runner has already won the gold when it comes to unforgettable proposals. Wallace just recently popped the question to his sweetheart, Lea Babcock, and how he asked has got us reaching for the tissues.
As a four-time world record holder, Wallace knew he had to also slay the proposal game — and slay he did! "On our second date I asked her, 'What's one thing you wish you had as a child that you never got to have?'" Wallace shared with Us Weekly. "And she said a treehouse."
Almost two years later, the Paralympic sprinter still remembered Babcock's childhood dream and just knew he had to make it come true. "In Athens, Georgia where she went to school and where I'm from, I found a family that had a beautiful treehouse in their yard," he explained. "I went and knocked on their door and asked if I could clean up their tree house and decorate it and propose to my fiancée in it." Um, who could possibly say no to that?!
Wallace worked to transform the structure into a fairytale treehouse, adorning it with string lights and sprinkling rose petals on the wooden floor where he proposed to his love, serenading her with a self-written song.

But that wasn't the only sweet surprise for this lucky lady! Immediately after popping the question, Wallace whisked his brand new fiancée off to a big engagement bash with their awaiting friends and family. Too cute!
Wedding bells will be ringing for this adorable twosome on October 8, 2016, just a month after Wallace, a single amputee, is set to compete in the Paralympic games. "We've got the Paralympics, but for me, that's a moment in life, and marriage is forever," said Wallace. "That's the bigger moment for me this year."
