Oprah Winfrey just gave one of her former students the celebrity bridal treatment: She reportedly shut down a Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills for one of the graduates from the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa to find the perfect wedding dress.
"I’ve known these girls since they were 12 and 13 coming to my school. Graduating from college. Grad school. Now our first wedding," Winfrey wrote alongside a photo with the bride-to-be and her bridal squad, who are also members of the inaugural graduating class of the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy. "Looking for the perfect dress. #biglifemoment"
In the pic, the bride, Glori Rapalalani, is holding up a $10,000 bridal gown from Berta, according to the Daily Mail. But this dress apparently didn’t get Oprah's seal of approval; on her Instagram story, Rapalalani posted another picture with the caption, "Mum O like, 'Nooooo, that can't be it, Glori.'"
Hopefully, Winfrey was just as generous with marriage advice as she was with wedding dress opinions. Earlier this year in a video for Oprahmag.com, Winfrey and her BFF Gayle King were dishing out relationship advice.
Winfrey shared with the world a failed attempt at spicing things up with her longtime love Stedman Graham, and instead offered the advice of, “Ask him what would be spicy.”
While a negligee did nothing for Graham, she shared instead that her skills in the kitchen typically do the trick. "For me, I gotta say making cornbread kind of serves the purpose," she said. "I made some cornbread yesterday, and you would have thought I stripped myself butt-naked. Like, a little cornbread and black-eyed peas goes a long way in my house."
If she got that candid with the whole Internet, we can only imagine what advice she shared with Rapalalani in private.
