Olympic figure skater Sasha Cohen has spent plenty of time on the ice, but now she's got a brand-new piece of ice on her finger! Cohen announced her engagement to hedge fund manager Tom May on her Instagram account yesterday, and gave us a peek at her gorgeous ring.
"Engaged to the most incredible man... I've never been so happy," she captioned a photo of her with her fiancé on the beach. From the looks of it, May proposed with an oval-cut diamond on a simple, thin band. We bet that this is the only thing that can top her silver medal in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin!

Cohen wasn't the only one thrilled about her news. Newlywed Vanessa Williams tweeted at her in excitement, saying, "Congratulations to you and Tom on your engagement @SashaCohenNYC! Wishing you all the best!"
According to People, Cohen and May met at a Harvard Business School party last year and started dating in October. Since her medal-winning turn in the Olympics, she's settled into a more down-to-earth routine — that of a student. "A couple of my professors recognize me," Cohen told The Omaha World-Herald in 2013 of her time at Columbia University. "But my legal name is Alexandra. I go by Alex. I'm pretty low-key. I live downtown and I still skate at Chelsea. I'm involved in a lot of different charities. My life isn't completely one of a student...I feel really blessed to have a well-balanced life right now after having such a long career."
Luckily for her, the Olympian will have plenty of time to enjoy her betrothal during her summer break from her studies at Columbia. "The couple are on a two-month traveling expedition and will plan more details about the wedding upon their return in the fall," her rep told People.
