He's going for the gold! Olympic British diving champ Tom Daley is engaged to screenwriter and boyfriend Dustin Lance Black. And the two went the old fashioned route, announcing their happy news in the Times of London newspaper.
According to Us Weekly, the traditional announcement (just like Benedict Cumberbatch's) read: "Mr T.R. Daley and Mr D.L. Black. The engagement is announced between Tom, son of Robert and Debra Daley of Plymouth, and Lance, son of Jeff Bisch of Philadelphia and Anne Bisch of Lake Providence."
Daly garnered a lot of attention when, after his Olympic success, he came out to his YouTube followers in December 2013 that he is bisexual. "My life changed massively when I met someone, and they make me feel so happy, so safe and everything just feels great," Daley revealed at the time. "That someone is a guy. It did take me by surprise a little bit. I still fancy girls."
And despite a 20-year age difference Daly and his Milk screenwriting beau are happy as can be. "Tom told friends he 'doesn't care what people think,'" a source told Us Weekly of the relationship.
"The whole family is extremely excited and looking forward to the big day," Daley's mom told the Plymouth Herald of her son's engagement. "They are going to wait until after the Olympic Games in Rio before they decide on the date of the wedding and where they want to marry."
This has been a big year of milestones for these two: They moved in together in London just this past May! Maybe they'll round out the year with a wedding? If not, we hope they tie the knot sooner than later!
Congrats to the happy couple!
