Quite possibly the cutest newlyweds we've ever seen! Shortly after Samira Wiley and Lauren Morelli's exchange of nuptials over the weekend, the Orange Is the New Black couple is currently enjoying newlywed bliss. Since the wedding, both have shared their favorite moments during the ceremony on Instagram — and we'r REALLY sad we didn't get an invite!
Morelli shared a super fun pic of her and Wiley donning season-appropriate maxi dresses, and both accessorizing their coordinated outfits with a pink and yellow umbrella. But wait, it gets even cuter. "Here's 1/1000th of how excited we are today," Morelli captioned the Boomerang image. We're begging you to press play.
Wiley also took to the social media platform to share one of her favorite gifts from the wedding, from OITNB castmate Danielle Brooks (who also attended her Miami bachelorette party). “May you both not have your periods on your wedding day” the card read, to which Wiley responded in the photo's caption, "You get us."
Sounds like a picture-perfect wedding weekend to us! The couple exchanged vows during a confetti-themed wedding in Palm Springs, California that was inspired by their favorite dessert, Pillsbury Funfetti cake. To echo the ceremony's theme, the venue featured technicolor tablescapes, rainbow parasols, and lots and lots of confetti (duh.).
Wiley's parents officiated the romantic ceremony, and after being officially wed, the couple walked back up the aisle to "This Is How We Do It," by Montell Jordan, before making their grand entrance at the reception to Justin Bieber's "Baby." Both the brides donned gowns designed by Christian Siriano.
The couple was engaged early October, and the story behind Morelli popping the question is one for the books. "She asked me to sit next to her," Wiley said of the proposal to Out magazine. "Then she got me up, and we started dancing together, and she pulled a ring from behind the couch. Lauren has been married before, so I wanted her to tell me she was ready, her to be the one to propose. I didn't know she was as ready as she was. I was completely shocked. I was crying uncontrollably and kept backing away from her."
