Migos's Offset and Cardi B, the rising king and queen of the hip-hop/rap scene, are taking their time planning their wedding. That is, they aren't planning it yet, though they are still planning on having one eventually.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Offset explained that he and his fiancée are too wrapped up in their burgeoning careers to deal with wedding stuff just yet. "We ain't, we ain't planning it right now," he said. His group Migos is working on its upcoming album, and Cardi is working on her first full-length release, so they both have a lot going on. "We chilling. We don't got time for that right now."
The couple became engaged in October, when Offset popped the question on stage at a concert in Philly. He made the proposal public, "So she wouldn't think I was playing," he revealed, adding, "Let the world see that sh*t. I must have spent half a million on that [ring]." (It's pretty much the exact same ring Paris Hilton has, actually.) The two met about a year ago when Offset "had a publicist set up a dinner in New York for a select group of women, including Cardi." They started dating shortly thereafter, when Offset took Cardi to the Super Bowl. "That's a power move!" he said.
In January, rumors surfaced of infidelity in the relationship, and while neither party would discuss it directly, they both spoke to their commitment to each other. Offset, who has a tattoo of Cardi's name on his neck, said of the relationship, "It's my real life…It ain't no gig. It ain't no f*cking game, you know what I'm saying? It ain't no game. It's my life." He also elaborated on why he loves her so much. "She is real solid, came from where I came from, did what I did. She's herself, man. I seen her develop from the trenches all the way up, and I like how she did it. I respect her grind as a woman. She came to the game with some gangsta sh*t. I like that. I f*ck with her. That's my baby."
Describing her fiancé, Cardi said, "He is always taking care of everybody," and she reiterated their mutual commitment to making work a priority. "Like, you know when you that one person that have the money, he really take care of everybody? He got to take care of his babies, so he overworks himself more than anybody I ever seen."
