One dozen down, many (many) more to go! On Monday, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary and commemorated the occasion with a pair of Instagram posts, both featuring adorable throwback shots of the happy couple.
"Remembering 12 years ago today at a church in Manly, Australia. Still feels like it was yesterday. I'm a lucky woman. Happy Anniversary Baby," Kidman captioned a montage from her and Urban's wedding day on June 25, 2006. The clip, set to Urban's 2004 song "Making Memories of Us," includes shots of the church, the Australian coast, and the then-newly married Aussie duo.
In the picture Urban posted, he plays piano while his smiling wife dances behind him. "12 years of celestial synergized soul dancing. Happy anniversary Babygirl!!! I love you SO much," he wrote.
Kidman, 51, and Urban, 50, who share daughters Sunday, 9, and Faith, 7, have opened up about their long-lasting marriage many times before. Most recently, during a discussion at the South by Southwest festival in March, Urban described how his relationship with Kidman had completely turned his life around in countless ways. "There's probably less fear," he said in regard to the results of Kidman's staging an intervention for his alcohol use just four months into their marriage. "I can dare to suck, and it doesn't bother me as much as it would have."
This fearless attitude, he added, has come straight from the Oscar winner. "The way I approach [my career] is, 'Let's do it. We can scrap it after the fact.' I learned that from my wife. Try anything, do anything, it'll be very apparent if it sucks. But I have to try it," he said. "I would never have discovered [certain ideas] if I hadn't dared to suck."
