Ever since Miley Cyrus was spotted rocking a very familiar Neil Lane cushion-cut diamond ring on that finger, we've been dying over every detail of her and her ex-fiancé-turned-current fiancé Liam Hemsworth's rumor-swirling romance. The not-so-new engagement ring bling was given to Cyrus by Hemsworth when he popped the question back in 2012 — they met on the set of the Nicholas Sparks film The Last Song. And, lucky for us, the renowned author is finally giving his thoughts on Cyrus and Hemsworth's renewed relationship.
"They're both really terrific people, right?" Sparks told Entertainment Tonight. "It was great watching them. You know, Liam was unknown... This was his first role, and of course, Miley was a superstar by that time, just so talented in so many ways... Really great to know that, you know, even after the breakup they remained friends." The romance novelist wouldn't say if he thought the two were soul mates but he did spill that when the two met, "I might tend to believe there was little bit of magic involved."
On the off chance Sparks needs more inspiration we think he can look to his former leading man and lady who's love affair is playing out like the plot of your favorite watch-in-your-sweatpants-and-ugly-cry Sparks film. And the novelist isn't the only one dishing a little on what he thinks of the back-on pair, Hemsworth's big brother Chris couldn't help but give his thoughts too.
"I'm happy if he's happy, whatever he's doing in life," Chris told Entertainment Tonight on Monday in New York City's Bryant Park at a gala celebrating his role as Australia's global tourism ambassador. "I can't confirm any of that but, you know, he's smart [and] he's happy." Ok so maybe he didn't exactly mention his brothers groom-to-be status — and we're still obbsessivly refreshing Cyrus' instagram waiting for Liam to pop-up — but all signs point to his brother's back-on relationship. The Hemsworth brothers are notoriously tight and Cyrus was photographed on New Years with Chris Hemsworth's wife Elsa Pataky so although he's playing coy, if anyone in their inner circle has more details it's Thor himself.

Rumors of the two reuniting first started swirling again this fall when Cyrus helped her then former fiancé adopt an adorable pup. Even before the doggie adoption the Hunger Games star opened up about his relationship to Cyrus in an interview with Men's Fitness. "You fall in love with who you fall in love with; you can never choose. I guess some people just come with a little more baggage," the Australian actor said. "I mean, look — we were together five years, so I don't think those feelings will ever change. And that's good because that proves to me that it was real. It wasn't just a fling."
Sources have said that Cyrus never really got over her ex-fiancé either so it looks like this reunion was just what the two of them — and everyone else who was devastated by the split (a.k.a. us) — were hoping for!
