As the world introduces more and more gadgets and technology into our every day lives, weddings are doing the same. It's time to plug into some of these technologies and make your wedding a modern day experience that takes the standard and age-old traditions to the very next level. If you're wondering what you can do to make your wedding technology driven in 2016, here are four ways and gadgets to help you do that.
1. Keep Up With Your Photos
While you'll have a professional photographer following you around throughout the night, your guests will also be taking hundreds of photos of their own. Create a hashtag that they can use to keep track of the photos that everyone takes. You can also have them download a wedding photo app where they can upload their photos — and all the guests can exchange and share photos together after the wedding is over.
2. Create Your Own Wedding App
Create a wedding app that your guests can download. The app can include an itinerary for the day, a map of the venue, wedding day information and other fun features — the 2016 version of a wedding website!
3. Send Virtual Communication
Go paperless with your communication to your guests. Send out virtual invitations, thank-you notes, and even save-the-dates. That way, people can add your wedding date and information straight to their online calendars.
4. Use Drones, GoPros, Selfie Sticks
The 2016 versions of disposable cameras, these gadgets will take your wedding photos to the next level. Have them as options at your wedding, and let guests be in control of them. You can even have the photographer utilize the drone to help take aerial shots of the ceremony and reception. Stick a GoPro in your bouquet and capture photos and video as you walk down the aisle.
5. Stream Your Wedding
For guests that can't attend, you can set up a Skype video call or even a Periscope video so that your wedding can be live-streamed all over the country and the world for guests who live far away. Just make sure someone is tasked with setting up the stream!
