There's no one like mom. From changing your diapers and carpooling you around to shopping for wedding dresses and being your personal relationship advisory board, she's one of a kind. Admit it: you can't live without her. While all moms deserve a good drink every day of the week, Mother's Day gives new moms an especially good reason to knock one back (maybe they need a refresher to remember why they procreated in the first place?). These cocktail recipes were crafted by high-profile bartendresses, each of whom popped out a little one within the last year—if anyone knows the value of a stiff drink (and a shot of espresso), these women do. Whether you get your mommy group together to sip and cheers to a job well done, or you let someone else shake and stir for you while you put your feet up, go ahead: treat yourself—you deserve it.

"Moms spend the day covered in spit up and making absurd faces to make a baby giggle, so there's nothing like having someone take the time to craft something special for her," says Natasha David, a bartender at New York's Nitecap and mother of five-month-old Elliot. That's why she came up with the Breakfast in Bed cocktail, the perfect pairing for a Mother's Day bedside meal, made with a delicious mix of lemon and orange flavors and low-ABV sweet Vermouth and Brancamenta so mom can still go about her day (or not).
Sunday Morning Hues

- 1 oz. Kerrygold Irish Cream Liqueur
- 1 oz. Caffe Borghetti
- 1 oz. espresso
- 1 oz. mascarpone
Mix all ingredients except mascarpone with ice in an Irish coffee mug. Top with mascarpone cheese and garnish with an orchid.
New York's Middle Branch bartender, Lucinda Sterling, mother of one-month-old Zeta, has already nailed this mom thing down. "The best time to sneak in a cocktail is when the baby isn't looking," she says. "She doesn't know our secrets—yet!" To celebrate her first Mother's Day, she'll spend the day with her 98-year-old grandmother and her newborn—celebrating with multiple generations. But not without a good drink on hand! She created the mom-approved Sunday Morning Hues, a fruity and creamy cocktail, and the Conquistadora, to applaud just how remarkable moms are.

Does your mom love something sparkling? Try a Mother Lover cocktail, a perfectly balanced sweet and tart drink with a prosecco topper. Created by Jade Sotack, bartender at Jupiter Disco and mother of 10-month-old Jet, this drink is for breakfast! "I'm looking for some bubbles to go with those eggs," she says, adding that this Mother's Day she's looking forward to doing a whole lot of nothing. "I'm really hoping we have a quiet day where we can take the dog to the park and hang out at home," she says. And, of course, squeezing in some time for cocktails, too!
