Miranda Kerr and her love, Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel, made a splash with their intimate backyard wedding earlier this year. As it goes with secret celebrity weddings, details of the couple's I do's were kept pretty tight, especially anything involving the supermodel bride's dress. Until now! Vogue got to go behind the scenes at the Victoria's Secret model's wedding-dress fitting. And it's just as spectacular as you would imagine. Read on to see a photo of Miranda Kerr's wedding dress.
Vogue has confirmed that Kerr wore a custom Dior dress created for her by the brand's artistic director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, accessorized with a pearl-encrusted headpiece by Stephen Jones (milliner to the royals). The long-sleeved gown is as classic as they come, and as Kerr herself shares in the behind-the-scenes video, it was inspired by Grace Kelly's iconic wedding dress. We're totally on board with Kerr's more traditional wedding-day look, aren't you? The supermodel gave Vogue all the details on her beautiful wedding dress, including that it took only two fittings to get it exactly where she wanted. Sorry, Kate Middleton, you may have competition in the long-sleeved-wedding-dress department!
Kerr and Spiegel married on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at their L.A. home. According to People, the guest list was kept trim, with only 40 of the pair's friends and family making the cut. But despite the wedding's small size, Kerr and Spiegel went big on the luxurious details.
"For a small wedding, it has been a huge production," a source revealed to the entertainment mag. "The wedding and reception are intimate, but lavish and classy. Miranda has been very involved. She has great taste and knew exactly what she wanted. She is very sweet. She is ecstatic to marry Evan."
According to E! News, guests arrived to the residence at 4 p.m., as cocktails were being served in an open-air tent on the property. Among the rustic-chic decor (think farmhouse tables, benches, and blush garden roses), a pianist played "When You Wish Upon a Star" for the revelers. The bride and groom were then married in a short 20-minute ceremony. "The vows were beautiful," a source shared with E!, noting that both Kerr and Spiegel had tears in their eyes and that Kerr looked like a "natural princess." We have no doubts about that!
TMZ also reported that Kerr took over as wedding singer at the reception to croon a rendition of Shania Twain's "You're Still the One" to her new hubby, which just sounds ahh-maze-ing.
Kerr and Spiegel revealed their engagement last year with Kerr sharing a totally on-brand #ringselfie to Instagram, complete with Bitmoji caricatures (which are—surprise!—owned by Snapchat) of her and her now-hubs. Gotta promote the family business, ya know?
The only other detail shared by Kerr herself is how she kicked off her wedding day. "Our wedding was just so joyful," Kerr told Gwyneth Paltrow during a Goop-sponsored health panel on Saturday, according to People magazine. "We started the day, did yoga, then our families came over and we literally had this celebration in our backyard. It was incredible. It was so magical."
