Looks like Miranda Kerr's family has something to celebrate! The supermodel's brother Matthew, married his longtime partner and restaurateur James Wright in a commitment ceremony on Friday — and the wedding photos are giving us all the feels!
The couple tied the knot at Nanna Kerr's Kitchen in Hunter Valley, Australia, E! News reports, with the engaged supermodel sister serving as a beautiful bridesmaid and mom Therese Kerr documenting the big day on Instagram.
At one point, Miranda's fiancé, Snapchat founder and CEO Evan Spiegel, joined her family for a group photo. The couple arrived in the model's native country Thursday ahead of the couple's wedding, E! reports. Back in July, Spiegel popped the question to the former Victoria's Secret model after a year of dating with a classic round-cut diamond engagement ring.
While Australian law officially bans same-sex marriage, Therese informed her followers via Instagram Saturday that the happy couple exchanged vows the day before. "Through the universal power of love that is and surrounds all of us, yesterday @mattykerr26 @jimmykerr2611 were married in front of 284 of their much loved and treasured family and friends in Australia," she captioned an Instagram photo of the newlyweds.
"Even though Australia with its archaic beliefs does not yet recognize same sex marriage, in our eyes, in the eyes of Matty and Jimmy's family and friends and by the law of the universe that overrides all, Matty and Jimmy are married and have started a new and beautiful life together," Therese wrote. "We don't need an Australian Government or a law to tell us what love is or isn't."
The grooms said "I do" under a pergola with a white and gold banner that read "We decided on forever." Miranda looked stunning in an atypical white bridesmaid dress accessorized with a bright flower crown and coordinating bouquet.
The Kerrs and Spiegel posed for a family photo under the ceremony spot, and Mama Kerr shared a snap of her husband, John Kerr, walking Matty down the aisle. "Proud dad walking his boy down the aisle xxx," she captioned the sweet pic.
The mother of the groom, who had a role in the wedding, looked gorgeous in white as well, sporting a flowing ivory gown. She spoke out about her son's wedding day shortly after. "It's beautiful — I'm actually celebrant," she told The Daily Telegraph. "We don't need an Australian government or the law to tell us what love is. We are proud as punch."
