Kitschy brides take note. You'll soon be swooning over this Pineapple Upside Down wedding cake from NYC's Milk Bar. Milk Bar, the dessert outpost of perennial New York favorite, MOMOFUKU, serves up experimental sweets like cereal milk-flavored soft serve and crack pie (picture a pecan pie sans pecans).
The most recent addition to the trendy bakery's menu is the aforementioned Pineapple Upside Down wedding cake, a retro confection any Americana-obsessed bride will love. Their updated version of the old-school cake is soaked with buttermilk-cherry and layered with yellow cake crumbs, white wine, cardamom-poached pineapples and a special "PUD" frosting, which is made with poached pineapples and yellow cake mix. Classic with a twist never tasted so good. (We should know—we got to sample the sweet treat earlier this week!)
