This Is What Miley Cyrus Actually Wanted to Wear on Her Wedding Day

It sounds much cozier than her stunning Vivienne Westwood frock

Most brides dream of the day when they walk down the aisle in a classic white dress to marry their sweetheart—but not Miley Cyrus. Sure, the "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart" singer couldn't be more thrilled to become Liam Hemsworth's "beautiful wife," but the bride recently revealed that the whole traditional gown thing wasn't initially on her agenda.

The newly minted Mrs. Hemsworth wed her longtime love in an intimate ceremony at her Tennessee home on December 23. Both the bride and groom took to Instagram at the time to confirm their new marital status and give fans a glimpse of the vocalist's stellar off-the-shoulder Vivienne Westwood gown. The demure ensemble definitely seems to contrast Cyrus's more showstopping style, but she admitted to E! News that she actually had a much cozier wedding day outfit in mind.

While attending the 2019 MusiCares Person of the Year Gala with her parents on February 9, Cyrus opened up about her initial wedding criteria: comfort food and cozy clothes. "Literally, vegan chicken and dumplings," she told E! News on the red carpet. "That was my only rider. I would do anything for dumplings. You could add nothing else. I didn’t even need a dress; I was trying to wear leggings and a hoodie. I just wanted dumplings, that’s all."

It's clear that Cyrus's outfit choice didn't come to fruition, so we can only hope the vegan chicken and dumplings dream became a reality on their actual wedding day.

The duo met a decade ago while filming The Last Song, which prompted a lengthy on-again-off-again relationship and a broken engagement in 2013. However, since officially saying "I do," the lovebirds have been reveling in their new husband and wife titles and even ventured to the snowy slopes of Montana for a honeymoon ski trip.
