It looks like Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth may have finally gotten married. On Monday, NW magazine reported that the couple fans lovingly refer to as Liley have, at last, tied the knot. At least according to an unnamed source, who claims that the pair got hitched over the holidays while vacationing in Byron Bay, New South Wales. "It's such a special place for them," the source said. "It felt right."
Of course, this is most definitely not the first Liley marriage to reportedly take place since they got back together in 2016. It's not even the first one to happen over New Year's. Last year, NW magazine was also the one who reported that Cyrus and Hemsworth had become husband and wife on NYE. Those nuptials reportedly happened in San Diego, with the entire Cyrus and Hemsworth clans gathered for the special occasion. "It was all extremely last-minute," a source said then. "Liam's entire family flew over for the holidays and the Cyrus family were in town too. It just seemed like a no-brainer to do it while everyone was together."And before that, fans thought the pair had been married since July 2016, when Cyrus was spotted with a wedding band in place of her engagement ring on her Instagram. Then there was the major freak-out incited by a stray Billy Ray Cyrus comment on an Instagram of Miley in a wedding dress, but that was quickly cleared up by the man himself.
But all of those other rumors were dubbed to be totally not legit by Miley Cyrus herself, who said once and for all in September 2017 that she doesn't "envision marriage". "I'm 24," she said then. "I hope I get to live a little bit more. I have too much living to do." Now, however, Cyrus is 25, and other details of their latest alleged wedding do give the rumor some cred. The first is that New Year's has a lot of significance for her and Hemsworth. For one, Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus's anniversary is on December 29, which Miley celebrated with an Instagram post. For another, NW is reporting that Hemsworth and Cyrus "rekindled" their relationship on New Year's Eve in 2015 in Byron Bay—the same spot they reportedly married.
"It's where they realised that they couldn't live without each other and decided to really give their relationship another go," the source told NW. This, plus the fact that tabloids are saying they were sporting wedding bands on vacation, indicate the long-awaited Liley union may, at last, have happened. Congratulations, if true!
